For most of us, it’s hard to imagine life without our PC. It’s our method of choice to keep updated with information and news, communicate, check our bank accounts, browse and shop, obtain entertainment, access services and much more.

However, the fact that we use our PCs to access so much from so many places, makes them highly vulnerable to attack from online criminals. Whatever you do online, you’re at risk of someone trying to infect your computer with viruses or malware that can cause considerable damage to it, as well as leaving the way open for them to steal your money, your identity, or both.

From practising safe browsing and being careful about which emails to open, to installing anti-virus software, downloading updates, making backups and securing your wireless network, there are many ways to protect your computer from cyber-crime that don’t have to cost a lot of money or take a lot of time or expertise to install. You can read all about them at Get Safe Online. It’s full of comprehensive information on taking the right precautions, avoiding unnecessary risks, and what to do if something happens to you.
